A rose is a rose

This is a little outdated, but a while ago my father-in-law came into town and bought me some beautiful orange/peach roses. They adorned our dining room table for a while before they wilted. It was so nice to have fresh flowers in the house. They were gorgeous!

Our new front yard

Our front yard got a makeover!Rob dutifully tore up the old ugly bushes, edged around the lawn, and helped to beautify the front of our house.
Our ugly boxwood bushes waiting to be hauled off.
Some of our new bushes (gardenia, Nandina, and Azalea) They'll get bigger! And our fun rocks that we took from a new Walmart parking lot that had been dug up. Can't beat free!
The other side of the porch. The only difference from the other side....our nice red fire plant.
The red burning bush gets these fun pink tasselly looking flowers on it. Pretty!

I...Barely Move

In the words of Jim Gaffigan, "I don't know why they call it the IHOP, I never leave there feeling like hopping. They should call it the I...Barely Move, or I Need a Weelchair." So, we went to the IHOP a little while back and had some of their new yummy pancakes. I had the Pineapple Upsidedown Pancakes and Lisa had the Strawberry Cheesecake Pancakes. The pineapple upsidedown pancakes were so yummy that I had to have them at home. I figured that if you take pancake mix, and instead of adding water, add pineapple juice, pineapple tidbits and some brown sugar then you'd pretty much have the recipe for success. Turns out I was right. These things are flipping awesome. Just add a dollop of whipped topping and some cherries and you've got a breakfast that'll satisfy every time!

Nuttier than squirrel poo

These guys are hilarious. There are a TON of squirrels on Vanderbilt's campus and Rob likes to count them all as he walks over to have lunch with me. I know this is such a random post, but we get such a kick out of these little fellers. We fed one taffy once while we were waiting for the bus. They also love potato chips and basically any kind of human food. Rob even got one to eat out of his hand not too long ago. There is just something about these bushy-tailed creatures that makes us smile :)I had to add this one in there because, well, it just fits Rob so well!
