The best kind of surprise

You wouldn't believe the kind of trouble I had pulling together this surprise. Granted Rob is a busy guy, but you'd think I could pull together one day without any interruptions and not have him know that something was going on. Well, it did end up being mostly a surprise after intercepting a text message and a couple of phone calls. I was so excited putting this all together and it was definitely worth it. We had a great time.

It started out with this. Rob found this on his pillow. The only stipulation was that he had to choose somewhere we had never been before.

We ended up in Lebanon, TN. Although we've driven past it on the interstate, we'd never actually been here. It had this cute little town square.

Lebanon has some outlet malls where Rob found this fun hat. Thank goodness he didn't buy it though!

We also had to find a place to eat that we'd never been to before (no chain restaurants allowed!). We found an awesome out of the way diner that served awesome burgers and shakes. We loved this sign outside of the diner.

I had to try their BBQ. Yummy!

And Rob is always in the mood for burgers.

We stopped at a campground and had a little of this.

Saw a great view of the lake!

We saw tons of deer.

And finished it off with a little dancing and romance. What a great day!

Spring in full force

Spring has arrived in Nashville and these pictures were all taken on a walk around our neighborhood. All the trees are gorgeous!

Popcorn is definitely popping on these trees.

Easter Seder

I know...another post about food. Well, we've just been having the most delicious food lately I can't help it. This dinner was our first attempt at having a Passover feast. And it worked! With the help of our friends, the Newmans, it turned out amazing! We roasted a lamb for 15 hours, had potato cakes, matzo, bitter herbs, haroset (a yummy sweet apple salad), and of course, grape juice.

To top it all off we had a yummy traditional Ukrainian Easter bread, Paska! This isn't included in the Passover meal, just a delicious addition to it! This was my first attempt, and although a little off from the Paska that I remember (mine didn't have white raisins in it), it turned out quite delectable I thought.
